Financial Controller

ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee the month-end closing and reporting activities. This role involves providing essential financial guidance to the VP of Finance and the finance team, as well as preparing comprehensive forecasts and analyses as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure timely completion of all month-end close tasks, facilitating communication between Jerith and the Ameristar Perimeter Security Segment (PSS). The month-end close cycle requires dedication, often involving extended hours. Collaborate closely with the VP of Finance and the finance team to adhere to Corporate procedures, ensuring accurate financial data is provided in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM). Review financial data for accuracy and compile the monthly financial reporting package (LockPack) for management. Coordinate the forecasting and planning processes on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Utilize independent judgment to identify and implement process improvements related to reporting standardization. Maintain and refine financial planning models/templates while monitoring and analyzing financial results and trends. Facilitate and engage in monthly financial webcasts with the Ameristar Executive Team. Input financial and operational data (P&L, Balance Sheet, Headcount, Fill Rate, etc.) into HFM. Conduct ad-hoc analyses and special projects as assigned by the Senior Controller and VP of Finance. Recommend strategies to enhance the accuracy of inventory accounting and financial reporting by reviewing existing costing methods and controls. Collaborate with production management to analyze and address any discrepancies in production practices. Actively participate in the annual physical inventory process. Provide support for purchasing and supply chain management. Perform additional duties as required.

Required Skills and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business is essential. Relevant experience with a thorough understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow). Proficient in systems: Advanced Excel skills; experience with HFM (Hyperion Financial Management); familiarity with ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred); experience with reporting tools (Power BI or Business Objects); and proficiency in other MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Access). Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with various organizational levels, including senior leadership. Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive business information. Limited travel may be required.
