About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Wellpath. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to patients with mental illnesses or behavioral disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and contribute to the evaluation of individualized interventions for mental health patients in accordance with their care or treatment plan.
  • Provide direct patient care, including basic nursing services, medication administration, communication skills for patient care and education, and contributing to self-care teaching plans.
  • Maintain communication with Psych RN, LCSW/LMFT, MD/psychiatrist, or NP/PA regarding patients' mental health needs while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Transcribe doctor's orders, assist with program admission and discharge paperwork, and manage and organize mental health clinical documentation and records.
  • Assist with electronic data input and data gathering, continuity of care, discharge planning, attendance in program meetings, and gathering persons served identification and social information.
Requirements
  • High school and specialized training for licensing/certification(s)
  • 1-3 years post-licensure experience required
  • Basic knowledge of all psychotropic medications being dispensed
  • Correctional mental health experience is preferred
  • Current (and must maintain) unrestricted LPT license, certification or registration in state of practice
  • Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
