Job Summary

As a Database Developer at POET Biofuels, you will work in a database DevOps type capacity, performing tasks applicable to both a database developer and a database administrator.

You will be deeply involved in many aspects of our business and help manage and maintain some of our most critical systems.

Responsibilities

  1. Monitor, optimize, and maintain database systems and performance
  2. Modify databases according to requests and perform tests
  3. Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
  4. Collaborate with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
  5. Develop technical and training materials
  6. Manage database access and provide data management support to users
  7. Research and suggest new database technologies, services, and protocols
  8. Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards
  9. Create automation for repetitive database tasks
  10. Address issues escalated from our internal or external customers or our support team

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience with database development and administration
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study
  • 1+ year of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS
  • Microsoft PowerBI Report Server experience is a plus
  • Experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory managed permissions
  • Familiarity with source code management concepts
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to embrace change
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
