Job Title: Database/Systems Analyst

Reports to: SIS/PEIMS Coordinator

Dept./School: PEIMS

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Pay Grade: Business 2/240 Days

Primary Purpose:

Provide local program development and support for district computer systems and software applications. Student Systems administration and support.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred and/or related experience.

Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of Windows 2022 server and Active Directory, HTML, XML, and SQL, Crystal Reports, strong communication and team skills, strong documentation skills, ability to develop and maintain systems documentation and technical assistance manuals, ability to detect and resolve problems in application software.

Experience: Two years programming experience (web application development a plus), and systems administration experience.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:Analysis and Programming
  1. Conduct detailed systems analysis to define software requirements.
  2. Ensure that developed software is designed to meet technical and user requirements.
  3. Program and maintain Crystal Reports for finance and student systems.
  4. Create, maintain, and update technical manuals and documentation for internally developed software.
Database Administration
  1. Serve as a database administrator, ensuring integrity control and data security.
  2. Develop and run special reports and queries in finance and student systems.
  3. Identify application-related problems and recommend solutions.
  4. Create and manage automation of finance and student data files to third-party software.
  5. Ensure that application source code is backed up.
Application Support
  1. Assist administrative and clerical personnel to complete major projects and jobs as needed.
  2. Provide programming-related support for student applications.
  3. Administer student systems in areas of user setup, security, training, writing of system specifications.
  4. Build student data extracts and upload to all third-party vendors.
Other
  1. Maintain a positive attitude toward quality, safety, productivity, and teamwork.
  2. Insure and develop 'best practices' and see that they are established and followed in regards to student systems administration.
  3. Identify system-related problems and recommend solutions.
  4. Regular Attendance.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Working Conditions:

District-wide travel is possible. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours are possible. Sometimes on-call 24 hours a day is required.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
