Job Summary

As a seasoned culinary professional, you will be responsible for leading the daily kitchen operations at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality of food products and exceptional guest satisfaction. You will oversee all kitchen areas, supervise staff, and maintain a clean and safe working environment. Your leadership skills will be put to the test as you guide and develop your team to achieve culinary excellence.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; 4 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related field.

OR

2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related field.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Ensuring Culinary Standards and Responsibilities are Met

Develop and implement new menu concepts and recipes to enhance the culinary experience.

Collaborate with the Executive Chef to ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures.

Supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and presentation.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or other management personnel.

Supporting Management of Kitchen Operations

Utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate the kitchen team.

Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and retention.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional guest experience.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or other management personnel.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

Provide exceptional service to guests, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional guest experience.

Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and retention.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or other management personnel.

Maintaining Culinary Goals

Achieve and exceed culinary goals, including menu development, food quality, and presentation standards.

Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement strategies to improve kitchen efficiency and productivity.

Supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and presentation.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or other management personnel.

Additional Responsibilities

Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings, including daily stand-ups, BEOs, pre-cons, staff meetings, and forecast meetings.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or other management personnel.
