Position Overview

The Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing and treating individuals across various age groups who have experienced a decline in the functionality of their upper and lower extremities, balance, coordination, endurance, or who are dealing with pain, wounds, or burns resulting from medical conditions, injuries, or surgical procedures. This role involves developing a comprehensive treatment strategy tailored to the specific needs of each patient, collaborating with both patients and their families to promote optimal independence.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions)

  • Formulates and executes treatment strategies based on thorough assessments.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of evaluations and interventions.
  • Provides education to patients and their families regarding treatment processes.
  • Assesses patients' muscle strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, pain levels, skin condition, and overall functional capacity.
  • Engages in interdisciplinary meetings and case discussions.
  • Mentors PT and PTA students as necessary.
  • Oversees PTA and Aides as required.
Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Exhibits strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills.
  • Shows adaptability to meet unexpected demands and priorities.
  • Possesses knowledge of developmental principles across the lifespan.
  • Capable of working with patients from infancy through geriatrics.
  • Commits to performing all tasks safely, adhering to safety policies and the National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Delivers services in a respectful and compassionate manner, prioritizing the needs of patients and their families.
  • Collaborates effectively with other healthcare team members to achieve desired patient outcomes.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Required
  • 1 Year of Experience in Healthcare/Medical - Physical Therapy Preferred
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist
  • Certified in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
