Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Activity Leader to join our team at Elderwood. As an Activity Leader, you will be responsible for planning and conducting enjoyable recreation programs that promote socialization, engagement, and mental stimulation among our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Activities in planning and implementing the activity program
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with residents, staff, volunteers, families, and visitors
  • Prepare resident information for care planning and documentation
  • Assist in developing and maintaining community resources for the activities program
  • Maintain departmental inventory of equipment and supplies
  • Prepare reports as required
Requirements
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid New York Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Ability to develop good relationships with staff, volunteers, families, and visitors
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others, create a warm and accepting climate for residents, and adapt activities to meet their needs
  • Understanding of the rights and needs of residents
  • Physical stamina for constant activity
Work Environment

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. To ensure a safe work environment, the employee must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
