Job Summary:

St. Olaf College seeks a highly motivated and organized Area Coordinator to join our Residence Life team. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for supervising and training student staff, supporting community development initiatives, and managing residential area operations. Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and train student staff, including expectation setting, leadership development, and performance evaluation
Support community development initiatives, such as programming, events, and social connections
Manage residential area operations, including budgeting, facilities management, and occupancy management
Establish and maintain contact with students, address student needs and concerns, and serve as a hearing officer for conduct cases
Participate in college-wide initiatives, such as diversity and inclusion efforts, and contribute to a positive and inclusive campus community

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as student affairs, education, or a related field
1-2 years of experience in residence life or a related field
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and faculty
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
