About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team at Chesapeake Public Schools. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and networks.

This is a full-time position that requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in maintaining and repairing electronic computer equipment, with at least two years of experience working in a network environment.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair computer equipment, including desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Provide technical support to staff and students, both in person and remotely.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates and backups.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to resolve complex technical issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in maintaining and repairing electronic computer equipment.
  • At least two years of experience working in a network environment.
  • A+ certification required; Network+ certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
