ADP is seeking a Senior Cyber Threat Intelligence Specialist (Operational/Tactical)
In this position, the Senior Cyber Threat Intelligence Specialist will oversee the tactical and operational evaluation of cyber, fraud, and physical threats that could affect ADP. This role requires demonstrated technical proficiency and leadership in threat intelligence, data assessment, and brand safeguarding.
You will collaborate with intelligence analysts, threat hunters, detection engineers, red team members, and the security operations team to enhance and implement intelligence strategies. Your efforts will contribute to a comprehensive operational overview and bolster cybersecurity situational awareness.
Utilizing various intelligence collection and reporting tools, you will generate reports and products as necessary, collecting, processing, cataloging, and documenting information based on established intelligence requirements.
To excel in this critical role, you must be adept at developing and refining intelligence products and services.
Experience with both structured and unstructured data is essential, along with the ability to maintain situational awareness. You will work closely with the Security Operations team to maximize value, identify intelligence gaps, and engage with leadership on strategies to fulfill intelligence needs through collection processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create customized and actionable intelligence products based on analyzed threat campaigns, relevant internal and external events, and incidents impacting ADP.
- Partner with technical and threat intelligence analysts to provide indications and warnings, contributing to predictive analyses of malicious activities.
- Formulate analytical hypotheses, validate them through research, and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
- Examine and interpret internal logs, open-source data, and dark web datasets to uncover threat information that adds value to ADP.
- Apply knowledge of current cyber threats and the tactics, techniques, and procedures used to breach computer networks.
- Deliver precise and priority-driven analyses on cyber activities/threats, presenting complex operational and technical topics to senior management and stakeholders.
- Foster and maintain strong working relationships with cybersecurity and infrastructure support teams across the organization, as well as various business segments.
- Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Produce intelligence products at both the operational and tactical levels for audiences with diverse technical backgrounds.
- Collect, analyze, investigate, store, and disseminate threat intelligence, including actors, campaigns, TTPs, IOAs, and IOCs.
- Conduct in-depth technical analyses supported by industry-standard threat intelligence frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
- Develop and assess trend and correlation analyses for scenario forecasting at both tactical and operational levels.
- Enhance cyber-threat intelligence collection and analysis processes.
- Provide expertise and recommend appropriate remediation and countermeasures during incident response efforts.
- Offer security risk mitigation strategies and compensating controls to facilitate remediation efforts for the business.
- Analyze artifacts, including malicious executables, scripts, documents, and packet captures.
- Create presentations that visually represent research findings through charts, graphs, infographics, and evidence capture for senior leadership.
- Contribute to the development of objectives, key results, and program metrics.
- Exhibit strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities with sound judgment.
- Maintain or develop professional contacts within various communities to support operations.
- Assist the Critical Incident Response Center (CIRC)/SOC with intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination related to ongoing investigations.
Qualifications for Success:
- Expertise in advanced cyber threats, threat vectors, and attacker methodologies, including tools, tactics, and procedures, and their relation to the Cyber Kill Chain or ATT&CK framework.
- Experience in malware detection and analysis utilizing both static and dynamic methods.
- Familiarity with cloud services and their associated attack surfaces.
- Understanding of how malicious code functions and how technical vulnerabilities are exploited.
- Experience with premium threat intelligence tools and/or open-source intelligence techniques.
- Proficient in developing network and host-based signatures for specific malware identification.
- Experience disseminating information in accordance with TLP classification and handling protocols.
- Familiarity with various link analysis and intelligence software applications.
- Strong organizational and self-management skills, with the ability to initiate, coordinate, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Programming or scripting experience to automate tasks (Python, Perl, .NET, etc.).
- Experience in log analysis and trend analysis.
- Knowledge of foreign languages is advantageous (Russian, Mandarin, Farsi, Korean, Arabic).
- Experience in developing tools to enhance cyber-threat intelligence capabilities.
- Background in the banking or financial industry is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional communication skills and report writing abilities.
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, or IT; 2+ years in operational or tactical cyber threat analysis; experience may include Cyber Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, System Administration, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Monitoring, Incident Response, Digital Forensics, or Vulnerability Management.
- Possession of certifications such as SANS FOR578, GIAC OSI, Security+, CISSP, GCTI, GREM, OSCP, or similar training and certification.
- Prior experience as a technical cyber threat intelligence subject matter expert, analyzing cyber threats to organizational infrastructure and services in financial services.
