Location: Forrestdale Primary School

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Assistant to join our team at Forrestdale Primary School. As an Education Assistant - Special Needs, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs and assisting teachers in delivering inclusive education programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programs, including MiniLit, Social Thinking Programs, and Zones of Regulation.
  • Provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress.
  • Support students with special needs in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with general health and wellbeing of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement effective education programs.

Requirements:

  • Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents, and teaching professionals.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs.
  • Good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs.
  • Ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs.
  • Knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
