Job Title: Education Assistant - Special Needs

Forrestdale Primary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Assistant to join our team in supporting students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering planned education programs for students with special needs.
  • Provide feedback on education and therapy programs, and participate in the evaluation process.
  • Support students with general health and wellbeing, and engage with students with challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with students, parents, and teaching professionals.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs.
  • Good organisational skills, including the ability to assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs.
  • Ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
  • Knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
