Job Summary

Pacific Skin and Cosmetic Dermatology San Francisco and Corte Madera is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dermatology clinic.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient scheduling, including maintaining a full patient schedule and identifying schedule conflicts.
  • Greet and check-in/outpatients with a smile, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Answer telephones in a cheerful and professional manner, responding to patient inquiries and concerns.
  • Convert client interest calls/internet leads to booked appointments and services, utilizing strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Take messages and document for patients using electronic medical records, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Successfully address common patient concerns and information requests, providing clear and concise information.
  • Collect proper health insurance information, including patient demographics, insurance card info, and copays, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
  • Confirm patient insurance authorizations, referrals, and active coverage prior to appointment, ensuring seamless care.
  • Discuss products and services with excitement and confidence, promoting our dermatology clinic and services.
  • Manage provider and management meeting calendars as needed, ensuring efficient and effective communication.
  • Coordinate with vendors and representatives in a professional manner, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Oversee patient flow from front to back office for timely visits, excellent patient experience, and high-performing teamwork.
  • Beautify the office, including opening shipments in a timely manner, ordering fresh flowers when needed, and rotating flyers, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
  • Receive inventory and shipments, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a prehealth field or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of medical office experience desired, but we will train the right fit.
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office, Web-based email programs, Spreadsheet programs, Constant Contact, Square.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak professionally to colleagues, referring practitioners, vendors, laboratories.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Responsible money handling practices.
  • Strong time management skills and rational reasoning to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate accurate data entry and work unsupervised, interdependently.
Compensation

Depending on experience, aptitude, and an attitude to excel and achieve: $22-$25/hr DOE.

Quarterly team bonus.

THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION 40 hours a week with some Saturdays.
