County Extension Director

NC State University is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the County Extension Director in Warren County. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong understanding of Cooperative Extension's mission and a passion for delivering high-quality educational programs to the community.
Job Summary:The County Extension Director will provide leadership and coordination for the county's Extension program, working closely with county government agencies, organizations, and community stakeholders to develop and implement effective educational programs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Extension programming, administration, and leadership, with experience in human relations, public relations, team building, and communication.
Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and coordination for the county's Extension program, including developing and implementing educational programs, marketing, and resource development.
- Supervise and manage a team of Extension staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating personnel.
- Build and maintain relationships with county government agencies, organizations, and community stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and coordination.
- Develop and manage budgets, including allocating resources and preparing financial reports.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in Extension programming and administration, and apply this knowledge to improve program delivery and effectiveness.
- Masters or Bachelor's degree in a field related to Extension programming, administration, or leadership.
- At least 3 years of experience in Cooperative Extension or a similar organization, with a strong background in Extension programming, administration, and leadership.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to travel within the district and occasionally outside the district, with reimbursement following state guidelines.
