Each year, we positively impact over 50,000 children, young adults, and families across multiple states, fostering a community-oriented, enjoyable, and supportive environment.
Role Responsibilities
As a Philanthropic Engagement Specialist, you will play a crucial role within the Donor Relations team. Your primary focus will be on establishing and nurturing relationships with both potential and existing donors in the Great Lakes Region, particularly in Michigan. This position involves soliciting and securing significant contributions of $25,000 and above, while also developing mid-level donations ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 to meet our fundraising objectives. You will collaborate with the SpringHill Leadership Team to enhance our ministry outreach.
Key Success Factors
- Identify and engage new potential donors who resonate with SpringHill's mission and vision.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet relationship-building and financial targets.
- Strengthen connections with individuals, foundations, and other potential donors in the area.
- Request contributions from current and prospective donors for major and mid-level gifts.
- Oversee a comprehensive portfolio of donor relationships with an annual fundraising goal of $500,000.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Vice President of Advancement.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or a related field is required.
- Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential.
- Demonstrated experience in securing major gifts or closing significant sales transactions is preferred.
- A proactive self-starter who is organized and capable of working independently for extended periods.
- Willingness to travel within the regions served by SpringHill Experiences.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience with fundraising at SpringHill or a similar organization is a plus.
Work Environment
This position primarily involves working in an office setting, with extended periods spent on a computer. Physical demands may include walking, climbing stairs, bending, sitting or standing for long durations, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.
Travel Requirements
As part of your role, you may occasionally need to travel overnight for events such as camp visits, recruitment activities, retreats, and conferences. Overall, the travel requirement for this position is primarily on-site.
