AML Model Optimization
Scope:
Diagnose and rectify issues within the current AML model, emphasizing transaction monitoring.
Team:
Collaboration will be with a bank director.
Role:
A hybrid consultant with a blend of technical and business acumen, possessing robust experience in AML model development.
Problem Statement:
Regulatory bodies have expressed concerns regarding the bank's AML model development process. The model is experiencing performance challenges and necessitates urgent optimization.
Candidate Profile Requirements:
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Python and SQL, with a preference for Python.
Domain Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of AML, transaction monitoring, and model development, with a background in financial services.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Immediate Tasks:
1. Perform a comprehensive analysis of the existing AML model to uncover root issues.
2. Create technical solutions to address identified challenges.
3. Work collaboratively with bank stakeholders to implement solutions.
Key Notes:
While Python is preferred, any scripting language is acceptable if the candidate possesses other essential skills.
Experience in BSA transaction monitoring or economic sanctions modeling is advantageous.
Experience with Customer Risk Ranking (CRR) is a PLUS, involving processes and tools that evaluate and categorize customer risk levels based on various criteria.
Salary Range:
The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $110,000 annually. Factors influencing pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
