About the Role:


As a Control Systems Lead, you will oversee service technicians in maintaining, diagnosing, and modifying Material Handling (MHE) control systems to ensure optimal operational performance.

You will assist the Operations Maintenance team by devising solutions for complex challenges and managing projects. Additionally, you will play a key role in training and mentoring both service and contract technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Foster a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Diagnose and modify software for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, utilizing RSLogix 5000 software, and manage industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Profibus.
  • Serve as the first level of escalation support for control system technician teams, appropriately escalating downtime issues to vendors or headquarters for assistance in restoring equipment functionality.
  • Utilize expertise in material handling and electronic control systems to maximize the utilization of systems within the facility.
  • Monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with Controls Technicians and Mechanics to address electrical issues affecting performance. Conduct assessments of control systems to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with Facility Operations leadership, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers to plan and coordinate the installation of new technologies, acting as a technical consultant for capital projects.
  • Communicate technical challenges and project timelines with building leadership, operations, and maintenance teams, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the impact on systems.
  • Develop training programs for Control Systems Technicians.
  • Be capable of lifting up to 49lbs and standing or walking during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Associate's degree or 2+ years of professional or military experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with Motor Controls, including motor starts, variable frequency drives, and standard electrical components; 5+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programming.
  • 3+ years of experience with SCADA systems and KPIs.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting various conveyors and sortation systems, along with leadership and project management experience.
  • Familiarity with ASRS systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • 1+ year of experience working with Allen Bradley systems.
  • 1+ years of experience in maintaining and troubleshooting robotics systems.
