The Manufacturing Operations Manager at Quantic BEI is tasked with overseeing the Legacy programs, including MILRICS and Accelerometer, ensuring optimal performance across various metrics such as People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation for both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Operational Leadership: Direct all phases of designated operations from initiation to completion, encompassing fabrication, machining, assembly, testing, and integration.
- Performance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules, manage budgetary performance, identify process inefficiencies, and provide comprehensive cost and schedule performance data.
- Team Management: Supervise employee activities, promote safety initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams as necessary.
- Resource Coordination: Leverage internal resources and facilitate interdepartmental collaboration with quality assurance, production control, purchasing, and engineering.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive operational efficiency across Safety, Quality, Deliveries, Cost, and Morale, while leading 6S projects, safety audits, and flexible factory initiatives.
- Employee Engagement: Foster a culture of high employee engagement through feedback solicitation and team-focused projects.
- Leadership Development: Provide guidance to the Legacy manufacturing team, ensuring the organization meets delivery timelines while offering support in technical guidance, process enhancement, and production planning.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with site leaders to fulfill all business requirements and milestones.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:
- Over 10 years of experience in managing manufacturing operations within aerospace, fabrication, or high-tech environments, with a focus on mission assurance.
- Proven ability to advise and influence teams to meet schedules and resolve operational challenges.
- Hands-on experience in continuous process improvement methodologies, including Lean/Six Sigma (Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred), and familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
Additional Skills: Must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, financial acumen, and ethical judgment. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to forecast future operational needs. A collaborative, open-minded, and proactive approach is vital for fostering a positive workplace culture.
