Position Overview

The Physician Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services under the guidance of a supervising physician. This position involves direct patient care, focusing on diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough patient evaluations by gathering medical histories and performing physical examinations.
  • Orders and interprets a variety of diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Administers treatment plans and manages health conditions, utilizing prescriptive authority or referring patients to other healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Educates patients and their families about health maintenance, treatment alternatives, and available community resources.
  • May carry out preventive health screenings, immunizations, and assessments.
  • Ensures precise and timely documentation of patient assessments and care plans.
  • May assist with patient registration processes, including the collection of demographic and insurance information.
  • May provide support in surgical settings.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies is required upon hire, or
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is required upon hire.
  • No prior experience is necessary.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Kentucky is required upon hire.
  • NCCPA certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is required upon hire.
