Key Responsibilities- Conduct Parent Conferences and Maintain Positive Relationships
Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, ensuring they are informed about their child's progress and well-being.
Collaborate with Program Director and Branch LeadershipWork closely with the program director and branch leadership team to advocate for team needs and identify opportunities for partnership and growth.
Provide Feedback and Training to New StaffDeliver onboarding training to new staff, including shadowing and coaching, to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care and support.
Ensure Compliance with YMCA Policies and ProceduresEnsure the program maintains conformance with all YMCA policies and procedures, as well as the Washington Administrative Code.
Promote a Positive EnvironmentFoster a positive environment that encourages fun, safety, and the development of YMCA values, including proximity praise, specific action compliments, and the 8 Points of Leadership.
Attend and Participate in Family Nights and Program ActivitiesAttend and participate in family nights and program activities, promoting a sense of community and connection among families and staff.
Requirements- Experience Working with School-Aged Children
At least 2 years of experience working with school-aged children in a childcare setting.
Management ExperienceAt least 2 years of full-time management experience (preferred).
Education and Certifications12 or more college quarter credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, and Elementary Education or equivalent educational background in courses relating to early learning or child development.
Training and CertificationsCommitment to completing STARS training within 60 days of hire and completion of all WA State educational requirements within 4 years from hire (the YMCA will support you in achieving this state requirement).
CPR and First Aid CertificationCertified in Infant-Child CPR and Basic First Aid, and have a valid Food Handlers Permit or are willing to obtain certification within 30 days of hire (the YMCA will assist in this process).
Background and Reference ChecksMust be able to successfully complete required DCYF background and fingerprint checks before the first day of hire.
Transportation and AvailabilityHave reliable transportation and the ability to assist at other childcare sites as needed.
