Position Overview: This role is crucial for enhancing UAS operational effectiveness and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine use cases, identifying effective flying techniques to optimize deliverables.
- Promote UAS safety and risk management best practices within the organization.
- Collaborate with the UAS Program Manager to facilitate corporate communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide training to pilots on innovative techniques to enhance operational outcomes.
- Assist in training new pilots for Part 107 certification, focusing on flying skills and internal processes.
- Ensure uniformity in UAS operational policies and rigorously enforce compliance across all locations.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan to safeguard mission-critical operations.
- Facilitate the integration of emerging technologies into existing workflows.
Required Skills:
- FAA Certifications: Part 107 (Part 61 preferred)
- Willingness to travel for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of UAS safety protocols and utility infrastructure safety measures.
- Strong technical understanding of the UAS market, including various models and their functionalities.
- Proficient in radio communication technologies relevant to UAS operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of UAS IT components, including data management and integration.
Education & Experience:
- A minimum of a 2-year college degree.
- At least 2 years of experience managing drone operations is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in drone operations and equipment management.
- Experience in the utility sector is highly desirable.
