We are currently seeking a Manager of Business Applications & IT Platform Support to join our Information Technology Team.

CohnReznick operates in a hybrid model, with most professionals located within a reasonable distance to one of our offices. This role is designated as remote, meaning job responsibilities do not need to be performed in proximity to a CohnReznick office location. However, remote employees may be required to attend a CohnReznick office with prior notice for client engagements, team meetings, or training sessions.

YOUR TEAM.

This role involves supporting and maintaining the enterprise software ecosystem, which includes locally installed commercial applications, custom-developed solutions, and cloud-based technologies. You will also be responsible for assisting users of these applications to achieve their desired business outcomes. Additionally, you will lead a team of application support specialists, coaching, developing, and driving them towards success.

A successful Manager of Business Applications & IT Platform Support must possess outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. They should have exceptional troubleshooting abilities and be capable of guiding their team to swiftly assess and resolve complex application issues. This position will collaborate with members of the Enterprise Development team, IT Operations, IT Security, and other stakeholders within CohnReznick.

This position reports directly to the Head of IT Operations.

YOUR ROLE.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary objective is to support all production applications utilized within the firm and manage the team responsible for their maintenance. The team members provide the following:

  • Act as subject matter experts (SMEs) for the product or service within their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Stay informed about the accountable product or component and the latest changes deployed or in the pipeline.
  • Verify current functionality in production.
  • Validate the deployment of new functionalities.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes.
  • Monitor interfaces and application components.
  • Address support tickets related to their area of responsibility, coordinating as necessary to resolve reported issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis.
  • Recommend best practices or improvements for better support or user experience.
  • Provide on-call support during releases/deployments.
  • Customize applications and user interfaces to meet customer specifications (where feasible).
  • Configure Application Extensions.
  • Support changes in business processes.
  • Serve as system/service administrator to control access based on the least privilege principle.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as the IT Application SME.
  • Manage all team activities and set goals for each member.
  • Provide guidance to the team and ensure adherence to operational standards.
  • Hire, mentor, train, coach, and upskill team members.
  • Act as the primary liaison to vendors and contractor resources supporting the technology stack.
  • Oversee administrative activities such as budgeting, software and service renewals, purchasing, GRC/Security reviews, and remediation.
  • Ensure proper documentation is created and maintained for user, process, and system documentation.
  • Develop a disaster recovery and risk mitigation plan for critical applications.
  • Implement proactive, preventive, and reactive maintenance measures.
  • Establish service level agreement (SLA) standards necessary for successful IT-enabled business operations.
  • Communicate effectively with developers, consultants, and business users.
  • Translate complex technical information into understandable terms for business users.
  • Address internal customer concerns regarding products and services.

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5-8 years of experience within an IT Operations team structure and leading a department.
  • An Associate's, Bachelor's (or higher) degree in a computer, IT operations management, or business-related field (e.g., Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience with accounting and tax software (e.g., CCH Engagement, CCH Access).
  • Strong experience in strategic and functional areas of IT operations.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks, DevSecOps models, and ADO.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft O365 platform.
  • Proven experience with diverse technologies and processing environments.
  • Technical expertise in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and debugging skills to address complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make decisions regarding solutions and technology.
  • Experience managing a team of more than 10 individuals.
  • Capability to foster teamwork, provide leadership, and mentor others.
