Facilities Operations Manager - Manufacturing is tasked with overseeing and managing the upkeep of facilities, grounds, and utility systems at HARIBO's manufacturing site. This encompasses HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, elevators, and the transport systems linking various buildings, including the Wastewater Treatment Plant and other associated structures.

Positioned on-site at HARIBO's advanced manufacturing facility, the Facilities Operations Manager, reporting to the Director of Construction and Infrastructure, will spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing current infrastructure, emphasizing a culture of continuous improvement. The Facilities Operations Manager will lead a team of building and utility technicians and is expected to work collaboratively with other departments to identify and mitigate unexpected downtime, quality issues, safety concerns, and other operational losses, employing problem-solving strategies and a mindset geared towards continuous enhancement. This role embodies our commitment to a people-centric, improvement-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of utility systems across the facility, including Wastewater Treatment Plant equipment and ancillary structures.
  • Effectively implement a preventive maintenance program for equipment and facilities, engaging with key stakeholders and incorporating feedback from team members.
  • Guide the utilities and facilities team in alignment with HARIBO's core values.
  • Foster a positive, proactive, and collaborative environment within the department, supporting the professional growth of team members.
  • Manage stress effectively and prioritize tasks to meet objectives, while maintaining a constructive and productive workplace atmosphere.
  • Oversee the development and coaching of the team.
  • Identify, plan, and execute capital projects aimed at enhancing systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; a High School Diploma or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in building/utilities maintenance or construction.
  • Basic understanding of Wastewater Treatment processes.
  • Flexibility in work scheduling is required.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the country and potentially internationally (overall less than 5%).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Previous roles as a construction manager or facilities manager, with practical knowledge of PLCs, electrical systems, building codes, and utilities equipment installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • 3+ years of project management experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in software such as MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Visio, and AutoCAD (or equivalent).
  • Prior experience with HAZMAT and GMP is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills; ability to collaborate effectively with all associates.
  • Capability to make informed decisions, prioritize tasks, and guide team members in a dynamic production environment.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and hold team members accountable to HARIBO's high standards.
  • Competence in training others and ensuring compliance.
