Job Overview

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Training Specialist plays a crucial role in designing and implementing comprehensive training initiatives tailored for production teams, new employees, and the broader organization. This position emphasizes the assessment of training effectiveness and the ongoing enhancement of training materials to achieve optimal results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate training sessions focused on manufacturing operational standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance processes.
  • Stay updated on key operational areas, including but not limited to: tool adjustments, equipment checks, safety stock management, and troubleshooting common machinery issues.
  • Educate employees on manufacturing principles and practices, covering topics such as availability assessments, technical drawing interpretations, GD&T, and the creation and execution of work instructions.
  • Evaluate training requirements and adapt the training curriculum to address identified needs.
  • Provide hands-on training alongside team members in both traditional settings and innovative training environments.
  • Develop and present training resources, job aids, and presentations across various media formats.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments post-training to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Deliver onboarding training for new hires to prepare them for their roles and assess their readiness for operational tasks.
  • Implement organization-wide training programs that cater to all levels of staff, from executives to team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, with a requirement to rotate shifts monthly.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a high school diploma with at least 6 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality-focused role is required; an Associate's degree with 4 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with company policies, processes, and procedures is essential.
  • Preferred experience includes at least 2 years of training delivery in a production setting.
  • Proven ability to develop and instruct on manufacturing processes and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated history of maintaining safety standards within supervised teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Exemplary team-building skills, as evidenced by team attendance and retention metrics.
