Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Tech Intern to join our team at DHR Health. As a key member of our operating room team, you will play a critical role in providing safe and skilled patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the surgical suite to provide safe and skilled patient care, working closely with the Operating Room Registered Nurse to prepare the room for surgery.
  • Collaborate with the inter-disciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance/improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and hospital performance.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and patient care protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Assist with surgical preps, including instrument setup, patient positioning, and specimen handling.
  • Perform decontamination and sterilization processes, adhering to hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to a safe and organized work environment, adhering to hospital safety, risk management, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in surgical technology.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Currently in an accredited surgical technician program or recent graduate pending CST certification.
  • CST certification required within 90 days of CST Program completion date.
