Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Care Duties

  • Establish a secure and inviting atmosphere for children in care.
  • Provide nutritious meals from a parent-approved menu.
  • Attend to diaper changes regularly and assist potty-trained children as needed.
  • Utilize the Brightwheel app for documenting meals, toileting, and nap times.
  • Capture moments by taking photos of children for parental access.
  • Support children in managing their emotions and self-regulation.
  • Immediately report any injuries to the director and provide necessary care.
  • Assist children in settling down for naps through comforting techniques.
  • Deliver personalized care, especially for infants, following parent-provided schedules.

Educational Support and Behavior Management

  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop engaging lesson plans across various subjects.
  • Create a play-based learning environment with accessible activities for children.
  • Incorporate open-ended art projects and sensory play options daily.
  • Implement positive behavior management strategies.
  • Enhance classroom decor to reflect curriculum themes while maintaining a positive atmosphere.
  • Work with fellow educators to ensure effective behavior management practices.

Training and Compliance

  • Adhere to established procedures for all regulatory aspects of the day.
  • Complete required training hours both on-site and off-site.
  • Seek additional training opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios at all times.
  • Limit personal cell phone use within the classroom.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children.
  • Successful completion of background checks.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
