Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a critical role in providing treatment to patients with mental health diagnoses as part of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
- Offer differential diagnosis, recovery planning, psychosocial rehabilitation, evidence-based practices, and rehabilitation to patients
- Perform a wide range of services and provide technical assistance to state, local, and private agencies and universities
- Use sound judgment in the interpretation of trends and patterns, the application of guidelines, and the recommendation of program enhancements
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S. or District of Columbia
- At least 1 full year of experience as a professional psychologist equivalent to the GS-11 level
- Ability to provide professional advice and consultation in areas related to professional psychology and behavioral health
- Knowledge of clinical research literature
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with patients with mental health diagnoses
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and rehabilitation techniques
- Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
