Job Overview

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough field inspections of building construction, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical installations to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Perform plan reviews for minor construction alterations and additions to ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Conduct final inspections of completed work to verify compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Investigate violations of building laws and regulations, and take necessary actions to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of work, and provide information to the public regarding building codes and requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports of inspections and investigations, and provide testimony in court as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments and agencies to facilitate code compliance and ensure public safety.
Requirements
  • Commercial ICC Certification
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
