Job Title: Clinical Specialist, Physical Therapy

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist, Physical Therapy to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a Clinical Specialist, you will play a critical role in coordinating patient care, training programs, and research endeavors for a specialty area of Physical Therapy practice or program within the Physical Therapy department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in conjunction with staff and management on Performance Improvement and clinical research projects that will benefit the unit and/or the department.
  • Assist in developing goals, standards, and evaluation criteria for Performance Improvement Projects.
  • Collect data and solicit feedback from staff, providing recommendations for revisions in PI projects with regards to clinical practice and departmental operations.
  • Suggest ideas, methodology, and rationale for research projects and participate directly in the collection of data and monitoring of the project.
  • Submit grant proposals and articles for publication or presentation at clinical conferences.
  • Identify new equipment that would facilitate programmatic growth and development and assist with equipment and unit maintenance.
  • Assist in Case Management responsibilities as they pertain to the Physical Therapy plan of care for any clients within the unit.
  • Work in collaboration with other unit team members as needed.
Requirements:
  • NYS Physical Therapy License with valid, current registration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Minimum of three years as a licensed Physical Therapist with progressive responsibilities and development in a specific clinical area.
  • Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • BLS certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA) OR Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA) is required upon entry to the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Minimum of five years clinical experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • APTA Clinical Specialist Certification in area of expertise.
