Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy - Pelvic Health to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient care, training programs, and research endeavors for a specialty area of Physical Therapy practice or program within the Physical Therapy department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with staff and management on Performance Improvement and clinical research projects to enhance unit and department operations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including coordination of patient care throughout the continuum.
  • Train staff to enhance clinical expertise and provide education on areas of specialization.
  • Assist in evaluations and development of treatment plans for patients, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop resource materials to enhance the quality and scope of patient care, including pamphlets, video tapes, and home programs.
  • Participate in lectures, seminars, and workshops to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

To qualify for this role, you must have a NYS Physical Therapy License with valid, current registration, a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, and a minimum of three years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist with progressive responsibilities and development in a specific clinical area. Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills are also required. BLS certification is necessary upon entry to the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field, teaching experience, and a minimum of five years of clinical experience with demonstrated leadership skills are preferred. APTA Clinical Specialist Certification in the area of expertise is also desirable.
