This position performs a variety of laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and result reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory protocols and procedures, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, including specimen processing and testing.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Assure quality control procedures are followed.
- Calculate and enter results of laboratory procedures.
- Provide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values.
- Process patient specimens, including collection, handling, and distribution.
- Participate in the evaluation, development, and implementation of new or updated testing procedures and protocols.
- Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
- One year of approved clinical laboratory experience, which must include a clinical rotation through the following sections of the laboratory: Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids.
- Certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS.
