Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Starfish Family Services. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing a quality program of educational activities for pre-school children ages three-years to five-years old.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that encourages language, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children.
  • Interact with children in a warm, nurturing manner and provide individualized attention to meet their unique needs.
  • Conduct developmental screenings and assessments of children, and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and individual family service plans (IFSPs) as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with families to ensure the child's growth and development meets their full potential.
  • Plan and implement daily outdoor activities that develop gross motor skills and promote exploration and social relationships.
  • Develop curriculum activities that reflect the ethnic and multi-cultural makeup of the community.
  • Maintain compliance with child-care licensing and HHS regulations.
  • Monitor and work in conjunction with co-teacher to provide a well-organized classroom.
  • Assist in ensuring that all health and developmental screenings are up-to-date and complete.
  • Promote parent-child bonding and nurtures parent-child relationships.
  • Provide, document and report all program activities and interactions as required by contract, licensing, and programmatic goals.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an Associate degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field.
  • Previous professional experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation.
