About the Role

Rice University is seeking a highly qualified Associate Director of Community and Public Health to join our team. As a key member of our research organization, you will play a critical role in advancing our mission to improve lives through data, research, engagement, and action.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage research projects, including developing research designs, methodologies, and protocols
  • Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to develop and implement research projects
  • Supervise and mentor a team of researchers and students
  • Develop and present research findings to diverse audiences
  • Contribute to the development of grant funding opportunities
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or Doctoral Degree in health or social science
  • Three or more years of postdoctoral experience leading and mentoring research staff
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent analytical and research skills, including experience with peer-reviewed publications and grant writing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience developing and managing research projects
  • Adept leader with five or more years of experience leading a team and supervising others
  • One year of experience doing community-engaged research or other types of collaborative or partnership work
