Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor to join our Criminology Department at DePaul University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in criminology, conducting research, and contributing to the department's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach criminology courses at the undergraduate level, including Criminological Theory and other elective courses
  • Conduct research in the area of criminology or criminal justice, including community-engaged scholarship or applied research
  • Participate in collaborative efforts to foster teaching effectiveness, assessment of student learning, and creative scholarship
  • Develop and teach new course offerings
  • Support student learning, retention, persistence, and program completion
  • Engage in professional development and maintain competence in the subjects taught
  • Advise students about career opportunities
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or closely related field
  • Demonstrated effective teaching and research experience in the area of criminology or criminal justice
  • Ability to teach at the undergraduate level and commitment to continued development as an educator
  • Active engagement in high-quality research
