Job Description

This is a full-time position offering competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package. The Front-End Supervisor oversees daily activities of front-end operations in the grocery store. Responsible for supervising cashier staff, ensuring efficient checkout processes, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise checkout operations to ensure efficient and accurate transactions.
  • Monitor checkout lines to minimize wait times and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Work with the Front End Manager to ensure appropriate staffing of checkout lanes and train new cashiers on checkout procedures, customer service standards, and product knowledge.
  • In collaboration with the Front End Manager, address disciplinary issues or performance concerns according to company policies.
  • Ensure front-end staff receive breaks.

Cash Handling and Security
  • Work with the Front End Manager in managing cash registers, including opening and closing procedures, balancing drawers, and performing cash drops.
  • Enforce cash handling policies and security measures to prevent theft or fraud.
  • Conduct regular cash audits and reconcile discrepancies.

Customer Service
  • Greet customers and provide assistance as needed.
  • Resolve customer complaints or escalate issues to the Front End Manager or Store Leadership as necessary.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming checkout area.

Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure safety protocols and sanitation standards are being followed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including food safety guidelines.

Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Previous experience in retail or grocery store environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency in cash handling and point-of-sale systems.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and inventory management practices.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to stand/be on feet for extended periods of time.
