Overview of the Role:
The Mental Health Technician plays a vital role in providing care and support to patients in a safe and therapeutic environment. This position requires a high level of compassion, empathy, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team setting. As a Mental Health Technician, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients, supporting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.

Responsibilities:
Assist in direct patient care and daily living activities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Manage daily schedules and supervise residents, preventing crisis situations and modeling positive behaviors. Provide direct supervision of patients/residents, reinforcing therapeutic treatment goals through Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. Participate in training, in-service education, and staff meetings, enhancing your professional growth and development.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; AA/BA/BS Psychology, Education, or related field preferred. One year of experience in the human services field or at least two years of college education preferred. SAMA or other Nexus Approved non-aggressive behavior intervention certification required. Maintain current certification in good standing during employment.
