Project Engineer Job Description

The Project Engineer is a key member of our project team, responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of successful construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with project personnel to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Assist in the preparation of work orders, schedules, drawings, field measurements, subcontracts, and supplier agreements to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and assist with the preparation of action items lists and proposed solutions to drive project progress.
  • Provide support to the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Contract Administrator with the preparation of job documents and materials to ensure project compliance.
  • Analyze and process project layout, construction sequencing, cost analysis, measurement of quantities, and clarification of specifications to ensure project accuracy.
  • Ensure proper document control, quality assurance documentation, and construction project records are maintained in accordance with expectations.
  • Monitor the project site to ensure work is progressing on schedule and provide support to field personnel as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; equivalent field experience will be considered.
  • 2 years of construction experience with heavy/civil preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend contract documents and construction plans.
  • Solid general math skills with the ability to complete field calculations.
  • Proficient in MS Office and construction software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with customers and employees at all levels.
  • Ability to act in a safe manner always.
  • High level of motivation and a self-starter attitude.
