We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Section Manager Curation Collections to join our team at Barrios Technology. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of scientists and personnel in providing services to the NASA Astromaterials Research Exploration Division at the Johnson Space Center.
Key Responsibilities- Provide effective managerial and technical leadership to a team of scientists and personnel.
- Work closely with NASA curators to determine near-term and long-term tasks, priorities, schedules, improvements, and reporting items.
- Establish daily and weekly task priorities and resource assignments, direct the staff, and resolve schedule and resource issues as they arise.
- Manage employee performance, conduct interviews, and hiring, and evaluate performance.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- BS degree from an accredited college or university in an associated technical discipline, plus five (5) years of experience.
- OR BS degree from an accredited college or university in an associated technical discipline, plus ten (10) years of experience.
- Experience supervising or managing employees engaged in technical or scientific pursuits.
- Demonstrable experience in project management, the use of project management tools, and the project life cycle for science or technical projects.
- Demonstrable experience working with customers in a project-based environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- BS degree in a Geoscience field with experience working in a science environment, or MS degree with experience working in a science environment.
- Advanced degree in a Geosciences field.
- Experience with or familiarity with Astromaterials.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

- Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
- Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
- Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
- This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
