Conduct evaluations on finished products, in-process materials, and raw samples within the chemistry or microbiology laboratories to deliver analytical data that supports the production process and ensures compliance with specifications and consumer safety regulations.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Technical/Functional

  • Consistently execute routine assessments in the Quality Control laboratory.
  • Perform standard maintenance and calibration tasks on laboratory instruments.
  • Prepare and validate reagents as necessary.
  • Analyze and document results through the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and communicate findings to relevant parties.
  • This position requires the ability to work on a rotating shift schedule.

Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and testing protocols.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained in a clean and functional state.
  • Comply with cGMP, GLP, FSSC, and ISO 9001 regulations.
  • Maintain precise records of test outcomes and report them promptly.
  • Ensure documentation and records are managed according to plant protocols and the quality management system.

Health, Safety, and Environment

  • Perform tasks in a manner that safeguards the health and safety of oneself and others.
  • Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in upholding high standards of laboratory safety equipment and cleanliness.
  • Take personal initiative to raise safety concerns and contribute to their resolution.
  • Engage in plant safety initiatives and 6S programs.
  • Ensure proper disposal of all laboratory waste in accordance with regulatory and plant guidelines.

Communication

  • Proactively share issues and suggestions for enhancement.
  • Ensure all key stakeholders receive necessary information in a timely manner.
  • Provide and respond to information requests promptly and comprehensively.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Experience

  • Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma. An Associate of Applied Science Degree in chemistry, microbiology, or related fields is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in a testing laboratory or equivalent, with a preference for experience in a chemistry lab.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and analytical testing methods is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities (capable of performing calculations).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, and cGMPs is desirable.
  • Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) is preferred.
