Community Violence Intervention Manager

Job Responsibilities
The primary function of this role is to collaborate with community stakeholders, law enforcement agencies, and legal representatives in the execution of the Group Violence Intervention (GVI) Program. This position will directly engage with individuals in various communities, focusing on areas such as violence reduction and intervention strategies.
Under general oversight, the coordinator will work closely with prosecutors, law enforcement personnel, and community members to align resources and cultivate relationships utilizing GVI, Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), and other community-based initiatives. This role is crucial in aiding the implementation of evidence-based practices aimed at mitigating violent crimes related to firearms and gang activity.
The coordinator will organize and participate in community gatherings and events, fostering partnerships with local organizations, businesses, civic groups, and faith-based entities to bridge service gaps for both youth and adults. Additionally, this position will oversee the monitoring of progress and financial documentation associated with grant funding.
Essential Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess substantial law enforcement experience, coupled with strong written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to analyze extensive written materials.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in time management are essential, along with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required, and familiarity with case management systems and legal research tools is advantageous.
- A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in law enforcement or prosecution is necessary.
Additional Considerations
A bachelor's or associate degree in a relevant field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience may be considered.
