Senior Operations Manager

As a key member of the IDEXX Laboratories team, you will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Glen Burnie, MD reference lab. Your focus will be on empowering our employees to achieve their goals through continuous improvement and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of 100+ employees, driving results and helping them adapt to change
  • Coordinate lab operations, including business planning, people management, and delivering results
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and ensure continuous improvement
  • Manage staffing, including supervisory staff, and establish performance metrics
  • Lead the development of laboratory budget, policies, and procedures
Requirements:
  • 5-7+ years of experience overseeing or managing a large, fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (business or science) preferred
  • Proven track record of managing a large team with a focus on employee performance, empowerment, and development skills
  • Experience as a change agent, preferably with Lean experience
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to present information to various audiences
