Job Summary

GPAC is seeking a skilled Building Automation Systems Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Controls and Automation Service team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, replacement, and technical support for Commercial Controls Building Automation Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, replacement, and technical support for Commercial Controls Building Automation Systems.
  • Understand control system design, sequence of operations, and controls schematic drawings.
  • Properly complete all required project and service documentation accurately and on time.
  • Diagnose system performance through observation, testing, and setup as required by trade/position.
  • Perform planned maintenance and inspections as indicated in the service agreement.
  • Proficiently operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment.
  • Complete service contracts, quoted service projects, and demand service calls as directed.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers and explain work performed to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Participate in technician on-call-stand-by rotation as dictated by business unit policies and procedures.
  • Complete documentation of invoicing data based on hours worked and materials/equipment used to complete the service.
  • Safely drive a motor vehicle and trailer, follow requirements of company vehicle driving policy, and adhere to all company safety requirements.
  • Purchase materials and issue purchase order numbers to suppliers.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of building automation & controls experience.
  • Experience with programming and controls database management.
  • Fundamentals of A/C electrical circuits and low voltage D/C electrical circuits and operation.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more controls platforms (Siemens, Distech, JCI, Inet, etc.).
  • General controls, installations, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets.
  • Ability to use testing and metering devices.
  • Familiar with Windows operating systems and software.
  • Professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capability.
  • Demonstrates strong business ethics at all times.
