Job Profile Summary
The Automotive Service Consultant is dedicated to providing an exceptional member experience while ensuring the efficient workflow of technicians.
This role involves actively listening and asking pertinent questions to accurately diagnose the vehicle's service needs, all while maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering courteous service and clearly explaining services and charges.
- Providing accurate completion timelines and ensuring quality work.
- Scheduling service appointments, preparing estimates, and assigning tasks to technicians.
- Ordering necessary parts and coordinating service activities.
Essential Duties
Engage with members to identify their auto repair needs and exceed their expectations for outstanding customer service.
Document repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance accurately in the shop management system. Ensure compliance with all BAR requirements in Repair Order preparation and documentation.
Source and estimate all parts required for vehicle repairs, suggesting necessary repairs based on safety and performance, prioritizing them accordingly.
Review all repairs at the point of sale, ensuring customers understand the work performed from the initial estimate to final payment.
Perform minimal record-keeping and administrative tasks to support business operations.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in the required languages.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work scheduled hours based on business needs.
- Proficient in math and computer skills, with experience in software applications.
- Strong member service focus with an automotive/mechanical background.
- Ability to operate vehicles with manual transmission.
- Familiarity with equipment/tool operation and diagnostic/repair procedures.
Education & Experience / Licenses & Certification Requirements
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with 3-5 years of industry experience in auto repair. Automotive Service Excellence certification is preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, reaching, lifting, and climbing ladders.
Base Salary: $49,440, with the potential for additional earnings through commissions and/or bonuses based on performance.
