Position Summary

CLASS SUMMARY:
The Project Construction Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Construction, collaborating closely with the designated Project Manager. This role is pivotal in overseeing the physical execution of assigned construction projects. The individual in this position is accountable for the overall performance of the projects and the field team assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employs cost management techniques for projects.
  • Assists in developing and executing schedules for the assigned project, including both the master and short-term schedules.
  • Supervises construction activities to ensure quality standards and adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Enforces all field and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provides necessary documentation for the assigned project.
  • Adheres to all organizational and regulatory safety standards and protocols.
  • Maintains effective communication with project management teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Engages with subcontractors to ensure project completion within the established timeline and budget.
  • Offers guidance and cultivates a positive working atmosphere among subcontractors.
  • Coordinates construction activities with architects and stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with subcontractors to address and resolve field issues.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (typical requirements for this position):
High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma; a degree in Construction Management is preferred along with relevant on-the-job experience.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (typical requirements for this position):

  • Valid Driver License
KNOWLEDGE (entry-level requirements):

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Project Construction Manager in the construction sector.
  • At least 5 years of experience in build-out construction is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of primary and specialty trade services performed on a general contractor project.
SKILLS (entry-level requirements):

  • Proficient in using computers, smartphones, and tablets along with relevant software, including the Windows operating system.

Essential Abilities:

Ability to process verbal information; comprehend written documents; and communicate effectively with others.


  • Ability to think logically and follow procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines with attention to detail and complete tasks and documentation promptly.
  • Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and the public.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this category typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work:

Involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work primarily involves sitting, with walking and standing required only occasionally.
