Job Purpose & Summary:

The Shop Mechanic is responsible for managing and repairing complex equipment such as semi-tractor trailers, pickup trucks, diesel engines, generators, gasoline engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a mechanical mindset, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform various shop duties, including maintaining a clean and organized work environment, inside and outside of the shop.
  • Service equipment, including trucks, diesel engines, generators, and other mechanical equipment, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Possess and manage tools and parts inventory, ensuring that all necessary equipment is readily available.
  • Use electrical tools, equipment, and safety devices in accordance with company policy and safety procedures, prioritizing employee safety and well-being.
  • Maintain a cooperative, team-oriented mindset and be willing to learn new methods, practices, and safety procedures, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Travel to other company locations as required, representing Sand X & Super Loop with professionalism and expertise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and relevant trade mechanical experience for repair of trucks, diesel engines, generators, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Must be 18+ years of age, with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Pass MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) requirement standards, ensuring a safe and reliable driving record.
  • Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and maintain drug-free status, adhering to company policies and regulations.
  • Positive attitude with a proactive approach to getting things done, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Flexible in an ever-changing environment, with the ability to work well as an individual or as a team.
  • Mechanical mindset and problem-solving attitude, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience as a welder, with a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large equipment, including semi-tractor trailers and heavy machinery.
  • Experience with high and low voltage electrical applications, with a strong understanding of electrical safety and protocols.
  • Demonstrated experience driving a truck with a trailer attached, with a clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
  • Forklift certification, with experience operating heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Manlift certification, with experience working at heights and operating aerial lifts.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, with the physical stamina to perform demanding tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs, with a strong emphasis on employee safety and well-being.
  • Ability to torque bolts to a minimum 150 ft/lbs, with a focus on precision and accuracy.
