Senior RF Systems Engineer Position

K2 Space is seeking a skilled Senior RF Systems Engineer to lead the development, integration, and operation of radiofrequency (RF) electronics for our satellite systems. The successful candidate will oversee the technical and programmatic aspects of RF avionics, including telemetry, command, and GNSS radios, antennas, and link budgets.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for qualifying or working with vendors to qualify designs through environmental testing, collaborating with internal stakeholders to integrate designs into spacecraft systems and software, and supporting mission operations and operating hardware in flight. Additionally, they will need to coordinate ground segment scheduling and manage RF flight hardware, ground segment configuration management, and vehicle first contact.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, 4+ years of experience in microwave/RF engineering, and familiarity or experience with RF mission operations, flight software integration, and ground segment configuration management. They must also have fundamental RF knowledge, including crafting RF link budgets and doing antenna placement planning, as well as experience with RF test equipment such as vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
Benefits
The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $140,000 - $200,000, plus equity in the company. The compensation package includes comprehensive benefits, unlimited paid time off, medical/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, and paid parental leave.
