Job Summary:

As a CT Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will be responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) examinations of patients as requested by referring physicians. You will work closely with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient imaging procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Greets patients, confirms image to be taken, and explains procedure to patients in a sensitive and empathetic manner.
  • Reviews patients' medical history prior to performing CT procedure and confirms that patient has signed a contrast media consent form.
  • Positions patients on examination table and monitors patients' condition during examination.
  • Introduces intravenous contrast material as directed by radiologist.
  • Controls and adjusts CT equipment to ensure that images meet requirements.
  • Maintains equipment and examination room, stores film, and keeps inventory of related supplies.
  • Prepares patient information files showing patients' name, date of CT examination, referring physician, and nature of examination.
  • Prepares and submits reports showing the number and type of examinations.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience as a CT Technologist or registry eligible ARRT advanced certification in CT required; however, for new hires in classification, certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire with one (1) year recent experience as a Radiologic technologist with ARRT required.
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. Graduate of a certified/accredited ARRT program required.
  • License, Certification, Registration: Radiologic Technologist License (Virginia) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Computed Tomography within 12 months of hire required.
Additional Requirements:
  • Current on CEUs with ARRT required.
  • Venipuncture competency checks off or must acquire competency check off within three (3) months of hire.
  • Required to stand, push, pull, and lift patients.
