Exciting Role: Early Childhood Education Assistant at Methodist Home for Children

We are on the lookout for passionate Early Childhood Education Assistants to enhance our lively classrooms.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As an Early Childhood Education Assistant, you will be instrumental in fostering a vibrant, child-focused learning atmosphere. Collaborating closely with our dedicated teaching staff, you will help bring our educational philosophy to fruition, ensuring that each child receives an exceptional start to their learning journey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage Young Learners: Assist in developing and sustaining a lively, child-centered educational environment by supporting classroom activities as directed.
  • Uphold Core Values: Demonstrate the Core Values of Methodist Home for Children daily, adhering to the policies and procedures of both the organization and the early childhood program.
  • Maintain Standards of Excellence: Adhere to the highest standards as established by the Division of Child Development, Department of Sanitation, and comply with the Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS) or the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS).
  • Collaborate & Learn: Regularly seek advice from supervisory staff, communicate significant issues affecting the children in your care, and implement feedback effectively.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and education as directed by the early childhood program leadership.
  • Flexibility: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher, Education Coordinator, and/or Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of verifiable experience working with young children, preferably in a childcare setting.
  • Screenings: Must successfully complete Methodist Home for Children's background screening policy and additional screenings including fingerprints and NC Division of Child Development Early Education (DCDEE) background check.
