We are currently in search of passionate Early Childhood Education Assistants to contribute to our lively early childhood classrooms.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

As an Early Childhood Education Assistant, you will be instrumental in fostering a dynamic, child-focused educational atmosphere. You will collaborate closely with our dedicated classroom personnel to actualize our program's philosophy, ensuring that each child receives an optimal start in their educational journey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage Young Learners: Assist in developing and sustaining a vibrant, child-centered educational environment by supporting all classroom activities as directed.
  • Uphold Core Values: Exemplify the Core Values of Methodist Home for Children daily, adhering to the policies and procedures of both the organization and the early childhood program.
  • Maintain Standards of Excellence: Uphold the highest standards as established by the Division of Child Development, Department of Sanitation, and adhere to the Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS) or the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS).
  • Collaborate & Learn: Regularly seek guidance from supervisory staff, share detailed information on significant issues affecting the children in your care, and implement feedback effectively.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and education as directed by the early childhood program leadership.
  • Flexibility: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher, Education Coordinator, and/or Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of verifiable experience working with young children, preferably in a childcare setting.
  • Screenings: Must successfully complete Methodist Home for Children's background screening policy and additional screenings including fingerprints and NC Division of Child Development Early Education (DCDEE) background check.
