About the Role
US Foods, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fleet Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for procuring and negotiating with vendors to meet the transportation needs of our US Foods division.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with managers and fleet subject matter experts to understand business needs and identify potential solutions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather information for bid proposals and support the development of bid documentation.
- Analyze and evaluate the bid process and timelines for assigned bids, including pre-planning, bid arrival, and post-bid award.
- Execute vendor performance routines, including regular business reviews and providing feedback to vendors using scorecards to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Track and report bid performances.
Requirements
- 3 years of transportation, logistics, and/or supply chain experience.
- Broad knowledge of the transportation industry and carrier operations.
- Sourcing experience.
- Knowledge of various transportation assets and services.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Proven relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate with carrier leadership.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to conduct basic analyses independently.
- Independent, self-motivated, proactive team player with a strong work ethic.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, logistics, transportation, supply chain, or equivalent experience.
